For 10 years, I ran my own city centre salon in Nottingham. Ruby Room was where I established a space unlike other salons I had worked at previously. No more factory production hair appointments. More about a calmer, less hectic environment, with time to listen and care for clients.

Prior to Ruby Room Nottingham, I spent around 10 years working for Toni & Guy. In both Nottingham and London hairdressing salons. It was at Toni & Guy where I learned some proper hairdresser skills. A brilliant company, offering opportunities no other salon could at the time. Some highlights include, styling hair at London Fashion Week. Making the front cover of their magazine. Runner up at one of the Toni & guy’s international competitions. And of course, working with, training up, and learning from some very talented hairdressers.

The years roll by, bringing changes and new starts. So for this next chapter, this is the place I work and the service I offer. Hope to see you soon.

The Salon
A fresh, bright space with welcoming home touches. A place to relax and unwind, away from life’s hustle and bustle. You’ll receive a one to one service, without the watchful eyes of other hairdressers and clients. Have a brew, posh coffee or cold drink and read a mag or scroll through your phone in peace.

The Service
Most importantly, you feel comfortable. I’ll listen and spend time on a consultation. I find pictures and photos really helpful, and know some of you do too. If you haven’t managed to look beforehand, I’ll scroll through a bit of Pinterest until we both feel we’re on the same wavelength.

The Price
Please check the services page for an up to date guide. I appreciate we all have to work with different budgets. The aim is to achieve a long lasting wearable cut/colour. I’ll try and manage expectations for higher maintenance hair. Offering transparent advice and home /after care.

The Haters
I understand how different we all are. Not everyone enjoys time having their hair done. If this is you, I’m happy to be told in advanced of any concerns. Maybe you find it easier not to chat, and if you’d prefer a quieter appointment, please say when booking. Whatever it is, there’s no judgment.
